Kameoka lies very close to Kyoto City and is a popular tourist destination for those wishing to escape the big city. Visitors can enjoy a 16km boat ride down the Hozukawa River, or they can follow the river on the Torokko Train. We took the train and then walked through a bamboo forest to Kameoka city centre.
