| Kobe is an attractive port city 25km south of Sanda, my home town. During 1995 the region was hit by a big earthquake that killed approximately 6000 people.
The epicentre of the earthquake was just west of Kobe City, near the longest suspension bridge in the world.

| Luminaria takes place in Kobe every Christmas. A long stretch of street is
decorated with many christmas lights. Thousands of people queue up to take a painfully slow walk through the arches.
Experience it once.

| The picture on the right is a close up of the above picture. During the first few days of Luminaria, it can take more than
one hour of queueing before the lights are even visible. However, it is extremely easy to reduce this time by pushing in to the queue close to the front.
This is easy since the queue is about 30 people wide.
